River across site for fish-for-fun but not much trampelling evident. Remote high elevation river valley with spruce and northern hardwoods in the uplands and narrow patch riparian vegetation.;High elevation riverside cobble bar dominated by graminoids including Carex aquatilis, Rhyncospora capitalata, Juncus spp. And Eleocharis acicularis. Flooding during this growing season is evident and may have delayed phenolgy. Abundant Tofieldia glutinosa.
Representativeness
Similar to other cobble bars along Shaver's Fork, but lacks Marshalia grandiflora and Rhododendron arborescens. Plot covers about 1/3 of a small patch community. Placed to maximize diversity and cover by Tofieldia glutinosa. Site revisted on 8 August 20
